Learn the ancient tradition of papermaking and combine customary techniques with DIY modern methods. Artists will explore various fiber pulps, pigments and patterns for form, color and texture. Learn to make sheets of paper, as well as sculptural forms using molds. This workshop offers a lot of experimentation, tests and magical final outcomes. Includes supply kits and other materials.

This series of online courses have been adjusted to teen artists’ interests, schedule and accessibility while at home. The courses incorporate both on-screen and off-screen learning about different art and craft techniques and nuances.
Inspiration is encouraged through historical references, organized virtual tours at the Norton Museum of Art, as well as the artists’ home environment and outdoor natural and manmade surroundings. Instructors will provide various tools such as downloadable guides and images, pre-recorded demos, and content made specifically for a digital space. An added feature will be one on one live meetings between the instructor and each artist, which will be scheduled with the instructor.
Please have available basic supplies, such as: crayons, markers, colored pencils, pencils/ erasers, ruler, scissors, masking tape, scotch tape, white glue, construction paper 9x12 and/or 12x18, white copy paper, newspaper, containers for water, containers to mix paint and bar of soar for cleaning brushes. Covering for table area where student works. Clothes they can get messy.
